Matías Sánchez García

Senior Executive Vice President and Global Head of Cards and Digital Solutions

Matías began his professional career at Banesto in 1997, undertaking a diverse range of roles, including Branch Manager, Regional Manager in several locations, Deputy Chief Commercial Officer Retail Banking, and Member of the Executive Committee.

In 2013, he transitioned to Santander Chile Bank as Chief Commercial Officer Head of Corporates and Institutions until 2016 when he assumed the role of Chief Commercial Officer Retail Banking.

In June 2021, he returned to Spain as Head of Retail Products for Europe & Spain, and in September 2022, he was appointed Global Head of Cards and Digital Solutions.

Matías holds a degree in Economics from Alicante University and has pursued further studies at various business schools in Europe and the US, including IESE, IE, and he is a Harvard Business School alumni (AMP 203).
