How will the coronavirus pandemic develop over time? Which sectors will be key to economic recovery? How can we help SMEs, the cornerstone of our economy? Our Head of Research, Public Policy and Institutional Relations, Alejandra Kindelán, answers these and other questions at an event organized by Retina, owned by Spanish newspaper El País.
The priority is to bring the global covid-19 health crisis under control. This is the starting point for economic recovery, which is already starting to show in some data. However, it still hinges on how the pandemic develops and must be supported by sustainable digital solutions for businesses. This was the view of Alejandra Kindelán in her speech at the “Building a sustainable digital future” event organized by Retina.
Alejandra highlighted how we should take advantage of the situation to transform our economies, while emphasizing the importance of small and medium-sized enterprises to Spain’s economy, together with our responsibility to safeguard them.
The event featured such prominent guests as Nadia Calviño, third Deputy Prime Minister of Spain and Minister of Economic Affairs; Michelle Bachelet, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and former President of Chile; and José Cerdán, CEO of Telefónica Tech.
