The Santander X Global Challenge | Education, Employability, and Entrepreneurship seeks innovative solutions to help people get access to education and lifelong learning opportunities, boost job prospects and talent spotting, and promote entrepreneurship and the creation of new companies. The six winners, picked from over 880 startups and scaleups from 11 countries, took home some 120,000 euros in prizes.

Santander announced the winning startups and scaleups of the Santander X Global Challenge | Education, Employability, and Entrepreneurship at the Digital Enterprise Show (DES) 2024, a leading international tech and digital transformation event held in Malaga, Spain.

Launched by Santander and Oxentia Foundation, this challenge aims to uncover businesses that help tackle some of the biggest challenges that society faces.

Winners of the Santander X Global Challenge | Education, Employability, and Entrepreneurship

Three startups and three scaleups shared 120,000 euros in prize money, got access to Santander X 100 (an exclusive community for top Santander X projects), and will have the chance to present their projects at Fintech Station, Santander’s open innovation space.

Over 800 tech companies with innovative education, employability and entrepreneurship solutions in 11 countries took part in the challenge. There were six winners:

Startup category

  • WoWplay (Spain) - Innovative learning for children to develop their potential at home through projects that focus on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and maths) subjects.
  • Jade Autism (Brazil) - Game-based platform to boost the cognitive development of children with autism and other learning difficulties.
  • EqualReach (UK) - Connecting digital work to displaced people.

Scaleup category

  • BCAS (Spain) - Access to equitable and quality education and help with searching for meaningful employment.
  • Key2enable (Brazil) - Innovative education support technology to help boost the skills of students with disabilities.
  • MyPocketSkill (UK) - Paid opportunities for young people to learn about money and bolster their skill set.


Honorary mentions
 

  • Cobee (Spain) - Creation and management of customized and automated flexible remuneration plans for employees.
  • Great Little People (Spain) - Innovative method for 1 to 7-year-olds to learn English, enabling quality teaching at nurseries and primary schools.
