The digital offering through the Openbank brand is underpinned by Santander’s own proprietary technology that will ultimately be rolled out across its Retail & Commercial Banking global business.
The United States becomes the first country in which Santander is combining its core banking infrastructure, known as Gravity, with its award-winning customer interface, ODS.
By blending these systems Santander is simplifying products, improving customer experience and reducing costs.
"The bank’s proprietary technology platforms–Gravity and ODS–elevates the service offerings to new heights", says David Chaos, Retail & Commercial Head of T&O and Group Deputy Chief Operating and Technology Officer.
Gravity is Santander’s home-grown digital cloud-native core banking platform and software that enables the transition of core banking from the mainframe to the cloud.
Santander has made a significant step forward in its US strategy with the launch of Openbank, its fully digital banking brand.
