The consensus for action on climate change and the goals of the Paris accord has never been clearer. The realignment of the economy away from carbon creates huge opportunities for banks, companies and communities alike in clean tech and renewables. But as government, multilateral agencies and business go to work to make it happen, policymakers and stakeholders face difficult choices over the pace and nature of the transition. How best to assure that global cooperation, rather than competition and regional fragmentation, underpin the new order? To green the economy and society without leaving behind communities or regions will require a new, global social contract.
