Retailers affiliated with Getnet will be able to offer new services, such as top-ups for transport cards and prepaid mobile phones and bill payments.

21 February 2025.
Getnet, Santander acquiring network, has unveiled new Smart POS features that seek to boost growth and business opportunities for associated businesses in Chile. Through these innovations, entrepreneurs will be able to offer important services to people, which will allow them to attract more customers and thus generate a greater number of sales.

Starting today, businesses affiliated with Getnet will be able to offer their customers top-ups of transport cards (for example, the ‘Bip! card’, the official payment method for the public transport system of the city of Santiago de Chile), the payment of electricity, water and gas bills and top-ups for prepaid mobile phones, using either cards or cash. This will make people's lives easier while delivering a high-value digital experience. The service works through an app that is available on all smart POS.

Today we are taking another step forward with a new feature in our Smart POS. From now on, in addition to receiving payments quickly and securely, businesses will be able to offer their customers the option of using their own device to pay bills, top up prepaid mobile phones and activate and top up ‘Bip!’ and other transport cards. At Santander Chile, we don't just offer technology – we offer opportunities. Which is why we'll continue to innovate to be ever closer to businesses and help them grow.

Fernando Benito, Getnet CEO

The executive also mentioned the importance of supporting retailers with solutions that facilitate their daily operations and boost their business. "And since we know that liquidity is key for any business, we continue to offer the possibility of receiving money from sales same-day in Santander Accounts, regardless of whether it's a weekend or public holiday, 365 days a year!" he added.

Four years after its launch, Getnet has become the fastest-growing acquiring network in Chile, with more than 200,000 associated businesses, reaffirming its commitment to offering innovative solutions that contribute to the progress of entrepreneurs and merchants throughout the country.
