Today, PagoNxt, the payment's tech backbone of Santander, announces the appointment of Olatz Urroz as its chief financial officer (CFO).
Madrid, 30 November 2022.
Olatz joins after a successful international career in companies such as General Electric, Vodafone and, more recently, Amazon.
She joined Amazon in 2019 as VP of Finance at their Seattle headquarters for areas such as robotics & automation, customer fulfilment, customer service, real estate, and product and customer assurance. Before Amazon, she was finance director for Technology & Group Functions at Vodafone in the UK between 2017 and 2019, after growing her career for 17 years at General Electric, where she held different positions in finance and audit in the UK, Italy, USA, and Spain.
PagoNxt is the one-stop shop for payments technology solutions that combines Santander's most innovative payments businesses for merchants, corporates, SMEs, and consumers. Olatz's appointment is the latest addition to the PagoNxt group's c-suite, following those of Kush Saxena from Mastercard as CEO for PagoNxt Merchant and Dean Nash from Wise as general counsel.
The announcement comes on the back of PagoNxt’s solid results in the third quarter of 2022, reaching 655 million euros in revenues (+75% year-on-year in constant euros for the first nine months of 2022), with the activity growing in all markets and business units.
"We're delighted to have Olatz on board. Her credentials and experience are excellent and add additional expertise to our senior leadership team. Not only does she have an impressive resume, her attitude and ambition closely align with our values at PagoNxt, making her a great fit for the business. As we continue to grow, Olatz will be integral in helping us deliver our goals and growth plans."
"I'm keen to hit the ground running at PagoNxt. The company's culture, drive and the overall tech-savviness of my now-colleagues were big factors in my decision to join. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a striving global project within the thriving, innovative payments industry, backed up by Banco Santander, one of the largest banks in the world by market capitalization."
Olatz will join PagoNxt in December.
