Banco Santander Mexico customers and SMEs will have access to support in the deferral of their most frequent credit payments for up to four months, including mortgage, car, credit card, payroll and personal loan payments, in order to help them deal with issues deriving from the coronavirus (covid-19).

A differential factor in the support that Santander will provide for its customers is that access to these benefits will be digital, allowing customers to apply for them entirely online, without having to call the contact centre or go into a branch.

These measures are in addition to other options that are currently available for Santander customers, such as spreading out payment for online supermarket shopping over three months interest-free, and payment at chemists, laboratories or hospitals over five or ten months interest-free. 

Santander also has Major Medical Insurance, Hospitalisation and Life Insurance policies with cover for covid-19 infections, even though the virus has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation. 

The bank will be adding to these measures with other support initiatives that will be announced shortly in order to help people and companies in the current situation, and as part of our commitment to Mexico.
