The bank will open sufficient branches to ensure that the public continues to be served during this situation, given the reduction in the number of customers visiting branches, to allow for staff rotation, and to protect the health of its employees and customers as much as possible.

Those branches which will temporarily close have others nearby, or are located in quieter areas and do not compromise the provision of services.

Madrid, 16 March 2020.
Banco Santander will temporarily adapt its branch network to the restrictions imposed in the current state of emergency to guarantee the provision of services, given the reduction in the number of customers visiting branches, and to protect the health of its employees and customers.

To ensure its customers are served, Banco Santander is dividing up its branch network teams, as it has already done with Central Services and in the larger branches.

Therefore, as of noon on Tuesday 17 March, the staff of those branches that are to be temporarily closed to the public, will be relocated to strengthen the teams at other branches and to allow for their rotation, or they will provide services to customers remotely from their homes.

Customers will be able to check the list of branches which are open in the app and on the website www.bancosantander.es.

Santander recommends that customers only visit branches to carry out transactions that they cannot perform using ATMs or remote channels, in order to prioritise the safety of its employees and customers' health during the current public health situation and greatly appreciates its customers' responsible behaviour.
