Santander Portugal has won the Euromoney magazine Best Trade Finance Bank award, as the winner of the Market Leader and Best Service categories.

This is the first award of its type, and it is based on the opinions of customers, who appraise the performance of banks and their contribution to the sector.

The magazine dwells on the alliance Santander has struck with Portuguese companies, offering them efficient, rapid, secure foreign trade solutions, and backup in a globalisation process.

In the Market Leader category, Euromoney acknowledged the solid trajectory of Santander in trade finance activity in recent years in Portugal, with growth based on a solid position in the Portuguese market.

In the Best Service category, it touches on work by the Bank's teams on financial operations as backup for exports, thanks to in-depth knowledge of trade regulations and trade finance, taking up opportunities to support businesses in international exchanges.

Santander has innovative offers, such as the Santander Trade Club, portal providing Portuguese companies with exclusive access to the Trade Club Alliance, with 14 international bank groups to help them find suppliers, distributors and customers all over the world. There is also an International Desk, a network of international teams to help Portuguese businesses to set up in new markets, thanks to Santander Group's operations in several countries.

This is one more award in addition to the national and international prizes won by Santander Portugal in the course of the year, as an indicator of its financial performance, reputation and customer service.
