Every graduate scheme is different, and the skills you need across each one will vary. That's why we’ve applied degree neutrality to our programmes, to attract graduates with different types of degrees and grades, as we're looking for skills found within many disciplines.

Whether you're rotating across different business areas or based in London or Milton Keynes, you'll work with expert team members who will inspire and support you to be your best.

It varies between schemes, but here's a general overview of what we're looking for:

  • Actual or anticipated completion of a Bachelor’s degree

Our new home has become the centre of gravity for our business and help to make our new hybrid approach work for everyone. Unity Place has been built with sustainability and employee experience in mind and will be a place we can collaborate as a business It will give our people the opportunity to make use of state-of-the-art facilities and come together with their teams from across the UK.

Most of our graduate roles will be based in our brand-new exciting Milton Keynes office. If you are part of our Treasury scheme, you’ll be based in our Triton Square office in London.

For those on our Corporate and Commercial Banking scheme we have business centres across major cities in the UK as well as presence in our London office.

Following your first placement, if you are asked to relocate then we will support you with up to a £1000 relocation payment.

We want our people to thrive at work and home, and we recognise that many people benefit from flexible arrangements. To enable us to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and to help each other develop we understand the importance of having the right balance of spending time together in an office while maintaining flexibility.

By working this way, we can continue to create moments that matter for everyone. To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern with the expectation to spend at least 2 days in an office every week.

Through tailored rotations across key areas to shape your expertise, you’ll work with our team of professionals to discover the heart of Santander UK's retail banking division. Do you have a naturally analytical mind, with a drive to solve problems and build trusted relationships?

Thanks to the expert guidance of a brilliant and close-knit team, our Finance Graduate Programme will help you get your head around all aspects of finance, including internal and external reporting, budgeting and forecasting future performance. Through the three-year programme you’ll develop a strong understanding of the purpose of the Finance function and gain hands on experience in a variety of different Finance roles as you build knowledge, skills, and relationships across every area of the company. 

We'll support you to quickly develop the confidence, skills, and experience to maximise your potential, and each time you pass an exam, you’ll be eligible for a pay increase, so by the end of the programme you could be earning in up to £47,000.

This programme encourages you to embrace change, put forward ideas and seek innovative solutions. You’ll build meaningful relationships with our Corporate, SME and Institutional customers, identifying their ambitions and helping actualise them. You’ll work with some of our most innovative customer-focused teams to help make banking simple, personal and fair. On rotation, you’ll gain insights into various diverse products and business areas, including Corporate & Commercial Coverage and Credit Risk function.

Our Corporate and Commercial Banking team have business centres across major cities in the UK as well as presence in our London office.

Following your first placement, if you are asked to relocate then we will support you with up to a £1000 relocation payment.

In addition, we’ll support you in developing your technical expertise and the influencing and relationship-building skills that will shape your career.

As one of our Treasury Graduates you’ll be part of a programme that’s tailored to equip and empower you from day one. Through comprehensive training and on-the-job learning, you’ll quickly develop the confidence, skills and experience to hit the ground running and maximise your potential.

Santander UK's Treasury function manages a diverse range of financial and market risks that derive from our customer balance sheet ensuring it remains strong and stable.  The treasury function has responsibility for managing Liquidity, Funding, Capital, and Interest Rate Risk; producing economic forecasts; issuing wholesale debt and capital market instruments; liaising with investors; and managing our Recovery and Resolution Planning.  We are also responsible for associated prudential regulatory requirements, and for running the bank's Internal Liquidity Adequacy Assessment Process and Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process.

Within our graduate programme you will experience the full end to end Treasury function, from Liquidity or Capital Planning, to executing wholesale market transactions, to facilitating the clearing and settlement of wholesale trades.
